How should one ask about some one's postal code? is it okay to ask:
-what's your postal code?

Is the order of giving address the same in spoken & written English? I was wondering if u could give me one in detail? - one so common in spoken English-
I need to know more about giving some detailed information as Number.

A typical address in the UK, both spoken and written, is:

42 Talbot Road
Lancaster
LA5 6NW

The last bit is the postcode (not postal code).

Although it is no longer required, many people still write in the county:

24 Bottal Street
Gosport
Hants
P073 64FT

Most counties have recognised abbreviated forms. When read out, they are usually said as this form -"Hants", though some people say them in full, "Hampshire".

If you are interested, the counties and the normal abbreviations are here: COUNTIES OF ENGLAND, WALES, AND SCOTLAND
