    The word "beyond"

    Hello everyone,

I have a question about this sentence.

"It is one more factor contributing to the spiraling cost of food around the world and causing hardship for food consumers in the Middle East and beyond."

Does "beyond" at the end mean other countries or regions?
Any other ways to interpret this?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: The word "beyond"

It could mean "and more eastward", in your sentence.
