    [Robin Hood stories] Paraphrase sentences

    Hello.

I have made a few excercises to paraphrase some expressions and I would like you to help me improve my results if they can be improved. Any of your suggestions would be much appreciated.

    1. For two weeks little has happened in the way of adventure.

1a. There has been few(little) adventures in for two weeks.
1b. There has been nothing interested for two weeks.

    2. He reminded his men to keep their ears sharpened for the call of his horn should there be trouble.

2a. He said to his men to be warned for the call of his horn should there be trouble.

    3. Robin Hood had no intention of giving a way to a stranger, however big he might be.

3a. Robin Hood was not going to let a stranger pass, despite he was enormously big.

    Thanks, Alex.

Re: [Robin Hood stories] Paraphrase sentences

    Not a teacher

    Think about these:

1a. There have been few adventures for two weeks.
Not much has happened for two weeks. (Within a wider context)
2a. He told his men to be attentive to the call of his horn warning them of trouble
3a. Robin Hood was set on not letting any stranger, whether big or small, pass.

    Your option corrected:

There has been nothing interesting for two weeks

Maybe it will serve as food for thought.

    Thank you, Mannysteps.

I have replaced 'any' with 'the' in the 3rd sentence you suggested. How do you feel it is good?

Here are the rest of sentences to parapharse:

    1. I could send an arrow through your heart in quicker time than it would take to tell.

1a. I could send an arrow through your heart in the blink of your eye.

    2. By sheer force he tore it down (a branch of a tree)

... I have no idea here...

    3. The two were well matched.

3a. The two were worth each other (one another)

I would appreciate any comment you might have.

    Thanks, Alex.

    1. I could send an arrow through your heart in the blink of an eye.
    Or:
I could put an arrow through your heart in the blink of an eye.
    2. With all his might he pulled it apart (perhaps?)
3.The two were worthy of each other

    Hope it helps, too.

    Thanks, Mannysteps.

I liked all of your suggestions. However, can a teacher back up that it is correct?

    Thanks, Alex.
