    As it so stands

    Hello.

I see an actor saying 'Secondly. With British as it so stands ...' (Now he has been interrupted by his partner). I have tried to look up the entries for the words 'as', 'so', 'stands' to get the meaning but it wouldn't help.

    Could you please explain that?

    Thanks, Alex.

    Not a teacher

There should be a wider context, but I'll risk:

"the way things are" or "as it is"
