    Deficient change

    A. Her grandma passed away when she wasn't born yet.
    B. She hates it when sale clerks intentionally give her deficient change.

Do these make much sense and sound natural in conversations?

    Thank you so much

    Make sense? Yes. Natural? No.

Her grandma passed away before she was born.
She hates it..........give her incorrect change. OR ......short-change her.
