    Is my sentence correct?

I feel something is wrong with my sentence.

She states that taking an English placement test is a good idea, because she had to take English level 1 which she has already known the material from the high school.

Thank you so much taking the time to answer my question.

    Not quite right

She states that taking an English placement test is a good idea, because she had to take English level 1 even though she already knew the material from the high school.

I don't understand the corrected sentence either - the 'because' aspect.
She thinks a test is a good idea because she had to take a course again?

Can you try to explain the situation behind the sentence, arzgol?

    Re: Is my sentence correct?

Students are required to take a placement test in Eglisah and those who get good grades can go to the higher level. The woman says it is a good idea, because she had to study from the level one even though she already knew the material from the high school.

    Thank you anyway.

I still don't get, I'm sorry. I would have thought that the woman would be annoyed at having to study again from level one, given that she already knew it.
However, this makes sense: "The woman said it was a good idea, because it made her study again from level one, thus making her revise material that she was not completely sure of, or had forgotten."

    Re: Is my sentence correct?

The announcement says students should take a placement test in English. Those who pass the exam can take upper English level. So , the woman supports the university decision, because when she was a freshman she had to take English level 1 which she already knew the material from the high school.

Sorry, Raymott for my broken English. Hopefully this time I could convey myself better.

    Thank you so much, honestly.

    Re: Is my sentence correct?

Are you saying that she was not able to take the test, which would have allowed her to study at a higher level?

If she HAD taken the test (but she did not) she would not have had to repeat the material.

Therefore, she says that others should so they don't have to suffer the same fate?

    Is that what you mean?

    Re: Is my sentence correct?

Yes, she didn't take a placement test, so she had to take English level 1.
I'm deeply sorry for taking your precious time. Since I have to paraphrase 2 sources when I'm writing something, I try to be concise and it creates confusion. The announcement is about freshman students and a placement test that they should take. This new policy was not in effect when she was a freshman, so she had to take English level 1.

    Sorry about that.

    Re: Is my sentence correct?

Okay, got it. As you have discovered, being concise takes more time than being clear. :)

She states that taking an English placement test is a good idea, because without it, she was automatically placed in English Level 1, which simply repeated the material she had studied in high school.
