    Using before, the moment

    When we use words like, before, the moment, etc., can we use both present and past?

    As in,

    He's gone before she knows it.

    I'll propose to her the moment she accepts my invitation.

    I do think it can be, but they just sound awkward so I decided to ask you, teachers.

    The second one is fine. The first one is OK in the right context.
