    first time

    Dear Teachers,

    is it correct to say:

When I was there first time, I met Maria.

    or

When I was there for the first time, I met Maria.

Thank you for your help :)

Both are acceptable. I would probably say, "The first time I was there, I met Maria", or, "I met Maria the first time I was there".
