    medium of choice

    Dear all,

I'd like to ask native speakers of English. In the passage below, what does "the medium of choice" mean?

...For daily information and more casual reading, the newspapers, magazines, and books that we skim through for content, e-readers will no doubt find a ready customer base. For more serious reading, however, whether it is for work or pleasure, printed books will remain the medium of choice.

    Thank you!

Not a teacher only a native.

The medium of choice in this context, means the way in which something is communicated.

So in your example, printed books will continue to be the method of communication for serious reading (instead of newspapers, magazines etc.).

    Re: medium of choice

To add a bit more, the phrase "of choice" means the thing that most people choose.

For people with an environmental mindset, the Prius is the car of choice.
For discerning golfers everywhere, Titlest is the golf ball of choice.

(Just exaples to show the grammar, not statements of truth.)
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
