    • To put things into perspective;
    • To put one's own role into perspective.

    For sure you'll get better answers, but this is what I think might be related. If you keep things in perspective, you analyse the situation well, and think the possible choices over to make the best decision. This could also involve comparing the alternatives, and predicting the possible results of the decision you're going to make.
