    Please, check if the passage below is grammatically correct. Thanks!

    Finally, Erdogan was confronted with most of the old elites in Turkey the academic elite, the judicial elite and of course the Turkish media which considered him a danger for Turkey's secularity and as a matter of fact for the Turkish state as a whole, since, according to their perception, the state had to be secular, democratic and pro-Western.
