    long accustomed

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

She is a woman long accustomed to respect and flattery.

long accustomed = very/ much accustomed

Yes, but it means that she became very accustomed to it over a long period of time.

    Re: long accustomed

    Hi emsr2d2,

Your interpretation was my spontaneous long guess at first. Later I preferred to ignore it and made the choice to follow purposefully the actually cause and effect relationship.

    Thank you for your backing.
