    past simple vs present perfect

    Hello,

I'm wondering if I can use the present perfect in the sentence from a dialogue at the doctor's below considering it takes place in the morning:

-I've been ill for a couple of days now. Then this morning I have woken up with a rash and I have had a pain in my neck.

I'm almost certain I shouldn't use the present perfect here (despite the unfinished period of time), but I cannot explain why.

I'd be grateful for any comments.
    Thank you.

It makes no difference when during the day the conversation takes place, the past simple is fine.

The rash and the pain in the neck are current events. The only thing in the past is the fact that you woke up.
