    Can I say that: "If you would have been in my place" instead of "If you were me"

    No.

    You might say "Had you been in my place, you would have ..." However, that is ambiguous as "my place" could be taken to mean "my home".

    "If you were me..." or "If you had been me, ..." would be better.
