Do you mean an informal word/phrase for children?
For example: Toddlers, 'tots', 'nippers', 'little ones' etc.
If so there are many regional variations. There is also a huge amount of variation depending on the age of the children. However, as you said 'babies' I am assuming you mean children aged 0-2ish.
Though be aware, as I'm often reminded by my Mum, I will, 'always be her baby' regardless of how old I am!
