    Is my sentence correct?

It is a good way to evaluate students on how they can express their ideas and thoughts.

The verb '' to evaluate'' doesn't have any preposition. But, I don't know which preposition should I use?

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

I disagree. For me on is correct and essential, unless you rephrase the sentence:

'It is a good way to evaluate how students are able to express their ideas and thoughts.'
