    Questions about a comma

Here are some sentences I have written just to exercise on the use of a comma. Please, would someone see if I have made any mistakes.

The audience waited for the well-known professor for hours, but he never appeared. There were rumours that he was absent not only because he had a busy schedule, but was lying drunk in his bed.

She would come onto her balcony every morning, sit on the chair, light her cigarette, and watching the town below, think of her future.

The boy dressed himself and before leaving the room, took with him his ball.

The ship capsized, but the seamen were rescued, all but one.

The audience waited for the famous professor for hours but he never appeared. There were runours that he was absent not only because he had a busy schedule, but because he was in bed drunk!

She would come onto her balcony every morning, sit on the chair, light her cigarette, and watching the town below, think of her future.

The boy got dressed and, before leaving the room, picked up his ball.

The ship capsized, but the seamen were rescued, all but one.
The ship capsized but the seamen were rescued, all but one. (I would say this should be "The ship capsized but all but one of the seamen were rescued" so no commas required.)
See above. I have some alterations to your use of commas and a few other amendments to your sentences.
