    Smile How amazingly life obliged!

    Hello!

    "How amazingly life obliged!"

Does this sentence mean 'we can thank life very much' or something?
    I don't quite understand it.
    Please help! Thank you.

Not a teacher only a native.

Could you put the phrase in context? Where did you read/hear it?

The only context I can think of is if a chance circumstance occured, or something postive happened for the speaker that they had no influence over.. For example:

A: Mary gave birth to a beautiful little girl last week.
    B: She's always wanted a girl.
A: Yes. How amazingly life obliged!

It's not a common saying, at least I have not heard it before.

Thank you. It is from the very context you have said.

(These sentences are from a picture book for children about Mona Lisa.)
Waited in secret for the world to go on spinning and to forget the Mona Lisa altogether.
    How amazingly life obliged!
In December, the Norwegian Roald Amundsen's intrepid band of mushers reached the South Pole. In April 1912, an iceberg sliced and sunk the unsinkable Titanic on her maden Altantic voyage...

"How amazing that Life did something to oblige us!" (I capitalise Life to anthropomorphise it)
"Life produced an outcome that we wanted. How amazing!"
