    INTO

    Ma'am/Sir

Is it appropriate to write "He went into the street". I have confronted this kind of sentence . Shouldn't 'to' be used here?

    Please ellaborate.

    Thankyou

    Re: INTO

If a person walks to the part of the road where the cars travel, I would say he walked into the road.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
