    walk in street or walk on street

    my friend and i argue walk in street or walk on street, so, what way is correct ?

    It depends which dialect of English you use.

    In the US, if you walk "in" the street you are walking where the cars go. If you are walking down the sidewalk, you are walking "on" the street.

    I believe in the UK, they walk in the street without meaning it is where the cars are.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
