this is a clip from the TV comedy by the ABC.

can anyone tell me what the words Robert said at the end of the clip?

I have posted the clip on Youtube. you may search it by typing in "unclear clip".
the forum has a restriction on posting links. strange.

    thanks.

1 It does sound like migraines.

2 You can only post links when you have posted ten times in the forum- it's a security measure to stop spammers and advertisers from posting. I am afraid that we have to have certain restrictions on people who have just joined like this; if we didn't, the forum would be full of spam.

Re: can someone tell me what are the words?

Sounds as if it's 'Is it my fault Liz got one of her migraines?' But he has an accent (and a moustache - which limits perception - see Stephen Fry's latest (BBC - BBC Radio 4 Programmes - Fry's English Delight ) so I'm not sure about the last three syllables). What I've transcribed as 'her' ( which in this context would be /hə/ rather than /hɜ:/ ) sounds as though it might start with a //, but that wouldn't go with 'migraines', and I can't conceive of another noun.

The expression 'one of her <noun>s' is an idiomatic format that means '[another] one of [the] <noun>s [that are a complaint to which, as you know, she's particularly prone]' - a pretty efficient use of a monosyllable!

Re: can someone tell me what are the words?

    Thanks for all the help.

I realised later that the punchline is a multi-layered joke.

first, Robert is mimicking his Kiwi wife's accent. New Zealanders would say, "meegrain" instead of "mygraine".

second, there is a common "knowledge" that wives often refuse to have sex with their husbands by citing "migraines", and that is why "one of hers migraine".

    No s.

And incidentally, congratulations on the well-presented sample.
