    it saves+ing

    Is my sentence OK?

It saves my time by not driving or going to a restaurant.

The magazine or newspaper circulation is up/ high or down/low. What word do you use?

    Thank you for your response.

    (1) "By" is OK but you don't need "my", unless you are making a distinction between you and someone else or others.

    (2) I would use "up" and "down" if I were referring to a general increase/decrease. I would use "high" and "low" if I were referring to a significant or substantial increase/decrease.

"Up" or "down" refers to movement. Circulation is up from last month.

"High" or "low" refers to comparison to some standard.

So circulation of a particular paper can be high, yet down.
