    make no mistake about it

    Dear all,

    What is the meaning of the expression: "Make no mistake about it"

    ex: "You are right. Your husband is sick. But make no mistake about it."

    When do we usually say this expression?

    Can "it" here refer to something that follows later in the sentence?

    It could be read as "have no doubt about it." I don't see why but is in that sentence.
