    "His car seized up and won't start. If that being so, he's going to have to ride on the bus to work tomorrow."

    I wonder how common is it to use "if being so" in conversation?

    would also be grammatical I think, but I doubt this is what the original says.

    As to the sentence, I came up with it. I was tryin gto use it in a context.
