Why is the yuppie raising two fingers at the camera, Soothing Dave?

In the US, that "V" hand signal has always been known as the "peace sign." It doesn't have the negative connotations it seems to have in the UK.

(Sadly, during the height of the Yuppie era, many youngsters thought the written peace symbol ☮ stood for Mercedes-Benz, not worldwide harmony.)

I thought it was obscene when the hand is turned the other way around and the fingers were thrust upwards.

I think he was joking about the order I placed my pictures. That smelly-looking gentleman is not the "yuppie."

Yes. You'd think that the continued lack of success of my attempts at humour would have deterred me before now.

Another failed attempt to raise a titter.
    I'll get there one day.

When you stop understanding your own jokes is the time to give it up.

Talk about harshing a thread-buzz....... Sorry I totally ruined your punchline by not reading more thoroughly..... In my own defense, I've been working on a tight deadline and have only had five hours' sleep and besides that the sun was in my eyes and I tripped over a rock......

You may not understand my laboured attempts at humour (with a British u), but you certainly get your revenge with expressions such as that. Despite a bit of pathetic googling, I have no idea what that means.
