    What does this sentence mean?

    I feel I've missed my true vocation.

    It means that the person feels he should have embarked on a different career, or life's work.

    "I like sticking up for vulnerable people against the 'system'. I should have become a lawyer. I feel I've missed my true vocation by becoming a teacher."
