    What Do You Make Of It?

    If someone asked me about something and said:
    What do you make of it?
    could my answer begin with:
    "I make (it) that.....

    PS * On re-reading, I realized that my examples might be thought to suggest that 'What do you make of it?' invites a negative answer. Of course it doesn't.

    Upon occasion, you might encounter a wise guy who has seen Airplane! more than once and will respond to "what do you make of this?" like Johnny does at 00:21 in this clip. Just a warning....it seems I get a similarly jokey response whenever I ask this particular question.
