    admitted hospital

Jay's mom was admitted hospital on Monday and discharged on Wednesday, then admitted again on Thursday and discharged on Saturday. The situation has been going on like this for half a year.

    Can I say:

Jay's mom has been staying in the hospital on and off for half a year.

    Re: admitted hospital

I'd say 'Jay's mum has been in and out of hospital for six months'.
