    flat shot

    In basket ball, is flat shot an unsucessful shot or clumsy one or whatever?

    ex)...I made a flat shot that bounced wildly off the basket....

    Not used/heard in AmE. Maybe rim shot or brick.

    A good basketball shot will follow an arc. A "flat" shot would lack this arc. It's not a common expression.
