    become endangered or/ and

    Many animals are becoming endangered or / and on the edge of extiction.
    Is my sentence proper English? I feel a part of my sentence is redundent.

    I would agree that endangerment includes extinction and therefore redundant. Use one or the other.

    I'm not so sure. I believe there is a difference of degree, by which on the edge of extinction refers to a more critical stage on the scale of endangered species.
