    use of way

    Please check if following sentence is correct
    Compare to Florida it is way cheaper place.

    I am old enough to dislike 'way' used in this way. I prefer, "Compared to Florida, it is a much cheaper place", though I would probably simply say, "It is a much cheaper place than Florida".

    (1) Some people suggest that it is better to say:

    "Compared with Florida, it is ...."

    (2) Some people feel that it is more accurate to use "compare with" when

    you are discussing the similarities and differences between two things.

    (3) Some people feel that "compare to" = two things are the same.

    (a) Tom is very angry because his mother is always saying to him:
