    serving out a disposition for

"Nick hadn't always followed the rules. He'd been in a little trouble with the law. Bu that was before and he'd his reasons. But he was doing better now. He was still living in a group home, serving out a disposition for. In another couple of weeks, his time would be up and he'd be out of there for good."

What does "serving out a disposition for" mean?
