    open up

Will you tell me how you think from " open up" to " go faster or speed up"?
Can I thnk from "open up" to " work or write or do anything faster"?

    Thanks!

    Semi-teacher and native.

I would say 'open up' can only be used when talking about machines (for example cars or boats), as it refers to 'opening up' the throttle. Also, you would need to put something inbetween 'open' and 'up'. For example, 'Open it up', 'open her up'. You wouldn't just say 'open up'.
