    About Food

    I have forgotten an adjective about describing food.

    Please help. Thanks~


    Situation:

    If I am very hungry, my friend suggests ordering salad and dessert only.

    Therefore, I tell her I am very hungry and I want to eat "" food.

    what is ?

    I remember means meat or something can relieve hunger

    I don't think there's a specific term for non-salad, non-dessert food.
    I can think of a few terms that would work though: proper, real, filling ...

    I knew this word because I watched a short clip English programme about eating in a restaurant.

    Maybe my example was not good. Salad and dessert are just examples, and can not fulfil one's hunger rapidly and directly. Therefore, who suggests to eat meat or noodles, rice, etc.

    "Substantial" doesn't necessarily describe the amount of food, but the type.
    => Meat is more substantial than salad, because it has more calories than salad and therefore is more satiable.
