[Grammar] shall I add "the" after a comma in a sentence

Dear teachers,

please advise if I should add "the" after the comma in the following sentences:

1.
It was some years ago when I first heard the name of a Japanese company, the Sony Company.

2.
It was some years ago when I first heard the name of a US movie, the Saving Private Ryan.

No, we don't put an article before proper nouns, as a rule. In your first example you also don't need to say "company" again at the end.

...I first heard the name of the Japanese company, Sony.

I would also use the definite, not the indefinite article in both of your examples:

...I first heard the name of the US movie 'Saving Private Ryan'.
