    To Become vs To Becoming

    Which form is correct?
I am committed to become the best X I can possibly be
I am committed to becoming the best X I can possibly be

I actually used a proofreading service and they change it "to becoming". Is this correct too? Just sounds wrong to me.

    They're right. It's committed to V+ing.

I'm committed to buying that car.
I've committed to selling my house.

So "to become" is incorrect? Thanks for the reply.

Yes, it's incorrect in that sentence.

I want to become a race car driver.

I am committed to becoming a race car driver.
