She's reached my heart in thin air

Byzantine is reflected in our pond.
There's a cloud, but the water remains calm.
Reaching in the suns fingers clutch the dawn to pass.
Even out, it's a precious thing to bear.
And I know she's reached my heart in thin air.
Yes I know she's reached my heart in thin air.

What does the phrase in bold mean? That she's reached his heart even though it was nowhere to be found?

Song by Pearl Jam, Thin Air

It's a pop song - if you're not smoking the same stuff as the writer, there's not much hope of working out what it means.

It's not a pop song but the smoking part may still hold true ;)
