    Which is the correct one?

Which one of the following is the correct one?

1- A candle sheds a dim light on an open book.

2- A candle sheds a dim light to an open book.

3- A candle sheds a dim light upon an open book.

4- A candle sheds a dim light toward an open book.

As you can see here my concern is the preposition...

    Thanks for your help.

Re: Which is the correct one?

The first and third are the least unnatural.
