    Post death on mean

What does death on mean in this sentence?

"He is death on people, like Mark, who do no teaching, see no
    students."

Speaker is talking about a teacher and making comparison between teacher and Mark. But I couldn't understand the death on part?

    Thanks.

    Re: death on mean

Don't worry. I am a native speaker of English, and I have no idea what this means.
