    the usage of "much"

    "She seems much disappointed."

This is a sentence I read in a practice book of sentence patterns. I'm wondering whether "much" is correctly
    used here to modify "disappointed."

Thanks in advance for your reply.

"much" here strengthens the degree of being disappointed.
"modify" is used to mean strengthen

I think it's correct also~ Actually "much" is to modify the adjective/ adverbs, so "much " this word is a adverb here~ The use of this word here is to emphasize how disappointed she was. Maybe you're confused and I suggest you can read it as this way, change a bit into "She seems to be much disappointed than she expected."

Hope it can help you. Good Day~

'Very' would sound more natural, though.
