Son, relax. I just want to chat with the man. I'm not gonna rip his head off and sh*t down his throat.

What does it mean?
Thank you

It appears to mean what it says. The speaker seeks only conversation, not unpleasant violence.

What's the problem? The words are clear, if rather hyperbolic - I'm not sure how the logistics would work, come to that! ;-) (It should be sh*tting -. perhaps that clarifies things. It's talking about intraguttural defecation :)

The more usual expression ends with neck - not throat.

Ah, I knew it sounded wrong, I just couldn't work out why! It's not something I hear a lot but I've certainly heard it several American films.

The problem is I am not a native and don't know what you know. If the words were clear to me I wouldn't bother asking. I know what the word means I want to know the phrase meaning, shi@tting down his throat.

It's a comical threat to carry out an unspeakable act upon a person. There is no nuance or hidden meaning here.

Like saying you will rip someone's heart out and show it to them while it's still beating.

What sheltered lives you and I appear to lead. There's a whole world of intraguttural defecation going on out there, and you and I sit here happily knitting and wondering whether to throw a gerund into the conversation.

According to the Urban Dictionary:

"I'll rip your head off and sh*t down your neck

A person, or entity, separates your head from your body and thereafter takes a dump that glides down your neck.

From the Duke Nukem game, said by Duke Nukem (ingame character)." (note: I have edited for swearing and spelling)

So now you know where it comes from. The meaning? It's basically a sort of final insult. Not only do you kill someone, which is bad enough, but you pull their head off and then defecate into the open neck. Not very pleasant, I'm sure you'll agree!

So in the original post, the speaker was saying that what he was planning to do was quite tame compared to what he might have threatened to do.

I was able to get the picture... but I was rather shocked to find out that there was a more common version (down his neck) instead of the original one give. Who knew there were people out there saying this enough to make it have a more-common/less-common division?

Perhaps it's become unkowingly mixed up with another idiom, used in similar circumstance - though less offensive (in two ways). When you 'Jump down someone's throat' you argue with them strongly as soon as they start to try to explain themselves.
