    Function of the word "Which"

I'm not very good at the specific terms for the function of each word in a sentence.

However, my principle is asking me about this particular sentence.

"It'll make a difference in which universities I can apply to."

Now, besides the glaring "to" at the end of the sentence. My principle wants to know the function of the word "which."

    Can you help??? Thanks.

Re: Function of the word "Which"

The problem here is that the original sentence is not natural English.

I think I'd say, "It'll make a difference (as) to which universities I'll apply to".

Re: Function of the word "Which"

That's a common problem with English textbooks written, edited, and published in Korea by non-native English speakers....
