Re: You are in the ball game

    Hello StillLearning!

In what context, please? Can you give either a couple sentences, before and after the example, to help us understand the scenario?

    Thank you,
    SMS

    Sorry about that.

Someone says " I am trying to sell my house for a millinon dollars"
Someone replys " Oh, you are in the ball game, then"

Is that supposed to be "You are in teh ball park"???

    Thanks!!

Thumbs up Re: You are in the ball game

    OK.
If you are referencing the price of the house, then the other person would be agreeing that you are in the correct price range for your home/property. In this case, the expression: "you are in the right ball park" would be used. If you were "way off base" or "way out there" that would mean that you are no where near the correct value for your home.

Being in "the right ball park" means that you are in the correct area/range for whatever subject you are discussing. It is used very commonly with price ranges.

    Does this help?

    Sincerely,
    SMS
