    sir,I usually saw in cricket matches that Pakistan were 75 and Australia are now on 85 end of 15 overs. I think instead of Pakistan were should be Pakistan was if I wrong then why we write army is coming but we shold write army are coming.

    Singular and plural verbs are possible in each case.

    As you've been told, with things like teams, both singular and plural are possible.
