    hardly ever/ almost never

    Dear all,

Are "hardly ever" and "almost never" the same in meaning?

I hardly ever go to the movies.
I almost never go to the movies.

The teacher hardly ever gets angry.
The teacher almost never gets angry.

    Thank you!
