    What is the diference between "hung " and "hanged"?

    As the past tense of hang, hung means did hang. Example:

    • He hung the picture on the wall.


    The word hanged refers to a particular type of execution, and it is used to indicate that that execution was carried out. Example:

    • They hanged him at daybreak.
