"to" + verb and "of" usage

Hello to the great English Lover Community here!

I have a question about "to".

Sally made her dog to wait outside the store.

I believe this sentence should be not use "to" and also I feel "of" should be used.

This is how I believe it should be written:

Sally made her dog wait outside of the store.

I'll appreciate any feedback even if it's just a vote that you concur or not. If you can shed some grammatical light as to why I'd love to hear it.

    Many thanks!

    Corey

You're absolutely right with the first part. It should be "She made her dog wait...", no "to".
However, in BrE, we do not use a preposition after "outside" when talking about physical location so "outside the store" is correct.
