    Inversion

    Hi everybody,
I have a question about inversion; is there a list of words, I should invert the sentences after them?

I know (only, hardly, barely, no sooner, never, seldom or scarcely) is there more?

    Examples:
Not only do I enjoy classical music, but I also have a season ticket to the symphony.
Never have I been more insulted.
Only then did I understand the problem.
Seldom has the boss been so upset.

sometimes I feel it's not an option to use the inversion form or to leave it.
    For example:
    - No sooner had he found his watch, than he lost it again.
    - Hardly had he left the room, when he fell down.
    - Scarcely did he reach the station, when the train let.
    - So weak is he that he cannot walk.
    - Such a brave leader was he that he won many battles.

    Thanks.

    Re: Inversion

Only, hardly, barely, no sooner, never, seldom, scarcely. is Are there more?

Such (near-) negative expressions as: rarely, little, not until, under/in no circumstances, at no time ...

Inversion is obligatory if you begin the sentence with these expressions.

    - So weak is he that he cannot walk.
    - Such a brave leader was he that he won many battles
    .

These are rather formal/old-fashioned. We would be far more likely to say:

    - He is so weak that he cannot walk.
    - He was such a brave leader that that he won many battles
    .
