Could you please correct what I've written about a film I've seen lately?
Dear John is a movie based on the bestselling book of Nicholas Sparks. It is the story of an angry, violent and rebel boy who was born in North Carolina and grows up with his father. John drops out of school and decides to join the American Army, since he does not exactly know what to do with his life. During two weeks off from the Army, John meets Savannah, a gorgeous and idealistic girl who is spending her summer doing voluntary service with some friends of hers and who will become the girl of his dreams. John and Savannah start going out together and hanging out until they end up falling in love with each other. They spend two weeks together and they promise each other that whatever happens, they are going to stay together. When these two weeks are over, Savannah has to go back to school and John has to get back to the Army. He is sent to Europe and the two begin to write letters to each other. These stream of continuous letter will keep their love alive. They keep on doing it for several months untill John asks to go on leave. He can fly back to his country and meet Savannah again, but it is 11th September 2011 when the war breaks out and John is forced to leave his country. He extends his mission into the Army and he is sent to the Middle East. Months go by slowly and, like it can often happen, distances tear feelings apart. John receives a letter from Savannah and he gets to know that she wants to marry another man, Tim. This letter winds John up and he burns all Savannah's letters that he had been getting up to that moment.
Five long years go by, and John has to come back to North Carolina because his father is sick. John's father is about to die. John comes back to US and cares for him for a couple of days but after a while his fathes passes away.
After his father's funeral, John meets Savannah again and he finds out that the man Savannah got married with was Tim, a guy he had met when he first met Savannah. Now Tim is sick, he suffers from a particular kind of cancer, a lymphoma, and he has got a son who is autistic, Alan. Savannah tells John she married Tim because he needed help with his son and she was the only one who could have helped him. At first John gets angry with her because he does not understand why she had just sent him a letter. He would have liked her to call him, he would have liked to talk to her to make her change her mind. Savannah answers him saying that she could not call him, because if she had called him, she would have changed her mind just hearing his voice. John and Savannah break down and they realize they are still fallen for each other. But now things have changed. The movie ends when Tim manages to get over from his desease thanks to John's help and John and Savannah decide to be friends forever.
