Question Go to or go over to??

I've seen a lot of people use "go over to" instead to "go to" like in: -

    1. I'll go over to your house tonight.

    2. Come over to my place tonight

    3. Come over here [Why not "Come here"?] etc.

What's the difference between saying "Come over to my place / house tonight" and "Come to my place / house tonight"? Or between "Come over here" & "Come here"?

Also, should I say place or house? Like in: -

"I'm invited to his birthday party in his house / in his place"

    What difference does it make?

Like if someone asks me where I'm going, should I reply like "I'm going to his place" or "I'm going to his house"?

    Thanks for your time.

In most cases it doesn't make any difference at all.
